A rare and significant item, this North Vietnamese Army (NVA) body armor dates to the late 1960s–early 1970s. Designed for basic ballistic protection, the armor features heavy overlapping metal plates sewn into a cotton outer shell. It includes a button-up neck closure and adjustable lime green webbing straps: a waist belt with metal buckle and a rear Y-strap that fastens in front for a secure fit. All hardware is made of aluminum.
